I would like to control GUI applications with a shell script !

Is there a way to do this ?
For example:
maximize applicationwindow
reduce applicationwindow
resize applicationwindow x_topleft y_topleft y_bottomright
y_bottomright
etc ... ?

THX !

You could try a scriptable windowmanager.

wmii should be able to do this (it has a plan9 interface), the
original plan9 window manager propably does this as well and there is
some emacs-based windowmanager out there, should be scriptable, too.

Or have a look at a Desktop pager application. As they do exactly
what you want to do, they propably use a form of X protocol extension
to communicate their wishes to the window manager. Should get you
started to look into that direction.
