Hi all

My mobo is PcChips 810LM pcb rev 3.0 with Bios 030308S, chipset SIS 730S
Lpcio ITE8705. 1Gb ram with two module 512Mb.
I try work with cpu Amd Athlon XP 1700+ Thoroughbred, stepping code
AXDA1700DUT3C package 27291, but this chip don't work.
Do know a modded bios that allows to work with this chip?

Thanks

Regards

Poor you.

810LM

That can't be found on PCChips homepage. Not with the "M", but only
M810[D][L][U] - with various combinations of the trailing letters.
Assuming M810L, the manual says there is a variant M810LMR, meaning "LAN +
Modem Ready". Possibly that's what you have.

From the manual:
<citation>
The following list notes the processors that are currently supported by
this mainboard.

Athlon: 650 MHz~1.2 GHz, FSB: 200 MHz
Duron: 550~850 MHz, FSB: 200 MHz
</citation>

As it looks, the board does not only NOT support T'bred, it does NOT EVEN
support 133MHz FSB.
This coincides with my experience with a M810DLU - a board with
fix-soldered Duron 13x100MHz CPU.
So no chance for anything with FSB 133MHz or higher.

If you can afford, throw away this board, or operate it for some
low-profile application (such as a router, or a home NAS) with a small
Duron processor of ~1 GHz. You won't miss much.
Recommendation: Used Athlon64 CPU/board combos (or at least much better
Athlon XP boards) come cheap these days, and deliver 200-300% performance
compared to this piece of crap.
In Germany , the NG "de.markt.comp.hardware.cpu+mainboard" comes in handy
for used hardware. Maybe a similar NG exists in Italian Usenet, or some
friendly German is willing to ship to Italy...
