DirectX Software rendering

Hi,
I am working on DirectX for roundabout one year and
we develop a program for spacemanagement, so
placing products on shelfs in 3D. The problem now is
we have a customer that has deactivated Hardware
acceleration on his display, so HAL is not available.
Is there a possibility to run on software rendering,
I still have no idea, I searched to whole internet
but found nothing.
Some help is appreciated.

Thanx, DirectEg

The code is, and runs into failure: ...

if( FAILED( g_pD3D->CreateDevice( D3DADAPTER_DEFAULT, D3DDEVTYPE_HAL, hWnd,
(BehaviorFlags =
D3DCREATE_HARDWARE_VERTEXPROCESSING),
&g_d3dpp, &g_pd3dDevice ) ) )
{
if( FAILED( g_pD3D->CreateDevice( D3DADAPTER_DEFAULT, D3DDEVTYPE_HAL,
hWnd,
(BehaviorFlags =
D3DCREATE_SOFTWARE_VERTEXPROCESSING),
&g_d3dpp, &g_pd3dDevice ) ) )
{
AfxMessageBox ("DirectX Error No Device!!!!");
return E_FAIL;

Hi DirectEg

I think you have more change to an answer in the english newsgroups:

- microsoft.public.directx.graphics
- microsoft.public.win32.programmer.directx.graphics
- microsoft.public.win32.programmer.directx.graphics.shaders
