Newcomer to Suse

Hello all,

I am a relative newcomer to Linux and have just installed Suse 10.3
(Beta). This looks great and seems to work well. Congratulations and
thank you to everybody involved in its development!

However, I have run into the following (smallish) issues and was hoping
someone could help me with them:

1. I have downloaded the Skype version RPM package for Suse,
but whenever I try installing it with Yast, Yast reads the online
repositories and ends-up not installing the Skype RPM package. It's as
if Yast will only install software from the online repositories.

2. I get the following error message when the system boots: "modprobe:
FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules/ No
such file or directory" - The system still works, so this does not seem
to be critical, but I would prefer to fix it, if I can.

3. I have a IBM Thinkpad A31p which has useful special web keys like:
Page Forward and Page Back. I remember I got these to work when I
installed Suse 10.1 a few months ago, but no matter what I do, I can't
get them to work in Suse 10.3.

Any help on any of these would be very much appreciated.

As a 'relative newcomer' you do install a BETA Version?!? ;-)

Have you tried # rpm -i rpm-package in a shell?

Maybe a yet buggy dependency of your BETA?

It may work, if you change and set up your keyboard in the kcontrolcenter.

But why do you not wait for the Final version just a few months later?
Excuse for my English,
