Personal.xls versus Personl.xls

I am using Excel 2002 and created a personal macro to reformat a recurring
report that I retrieve from a third party application in an excel format.
Until last week I was always able to store this macro code in the
personal.xls file on the XLSTART folder, when I suddenly noticed that I can
no longer run the macro (nothing displayed with Alt + F8). From one of the
usegroup threads I noted that I can try to rename the file to personl.xls and
it works. However, I am sharing this macro with my colleagues as well and
they are all using the Personal.xls file, I wanted to ask the community what
the difference is between these two files and why I can no longer see the
macro when using personal.xls on my machine.

Hi there,
Was able to solve the problem myself. The problem was that the personal.xls
add-in has been disabled. Item can be enabled within Excel. Go To Help -
About Microsoft Excel - Disabled Items... and enable the Personal.xls file...
and it works.

Maybe another user has a similar problem in the future.
