Please translate the program and/or manpage strings of APT

25/06/2012 - 15:50 von David Kalnischkies | Report spam

You are noted as the last translator of one of the translations for
Debian's beloved package-manager apt and it's associated files.

Many of these strings are included in the associated library and
you and our users will therefore encounter them even without ever
having used (or heard of) apt-get, and instead see them for example
in aptitude, synaptics or even software-center.

The English template has been changed, and now some messages
are marked "fuzzy" in your translation or are missing.

This would be Holger Wansing for apt-all.pot:
de 608 4 1 2012-05-12

And Chris Leick or apt-doc.pot:
de 745 52 6

The later as a translated per manpage statistic: 65 of 68 strings; 95.58% translated 62 of 65 strings; 95.38% translated 29 of 31 strings; 93.54% translated 17 of 19 strings; 89.47% translated 117 of 153 strings; 76.47% translated 126 of 128 strings; 98.43% translated 40 of 50 strings; 80% translated 11 of 12 strings; 91.66% translated
(not mentioned files are 100% translated)

I would be grateful if you could take the time and update it.
Given the size of these translations we happily accept also partial
updates of course.

You can find your po for the program translation here:
or for the manpage here:

If you prefer I can sent these files directly to you of course,
I am just trying to avoid that this mail is eaten by some sort of
protection layer because of it's (then relatively enormous) size.

Please send the updated file to me, or submit it as a wishlist bug
against apt. If you have any questions feel free to drop me line.

There is no direct deadline, as I am thanks to some personal issues pretty
late to the party and therefore take responsibility for talking the release
team into freeze exceptions for translation updates if needed.

Thanks for your work and best regards,

David Kalnischkies

Hmmm, da waren UTF-8-Zeichen drin, MIME-maeszig stand us-ascii
drauf, sonst hab ich nichts zum Kritisieren gefunden ;-)
