Hello Sci.Mathematik,
Ich habe diese Frage gestellt auf Rec.puzzles -- aber

Darf Ich hier probieren ? Text in English und Französich,
bitte entschuldigen !

Look at this sequence, starting with 35 (as an example):

35,32,27,24,22,20,13,11,7,5,3,1,1,0

35 hits 0 when successively subtracting its own "digit-trail"
(you’ll get column "b" reading column "a" digit by digit; the
above sequence is 35 followed by column "c"):

a b c

35-32
32-5'
27-3$
24-2"
22-2
20-7
13-2
11-4= 7
7-2= 5
5-2= 3
3-2= 1
1-0= 1
1-1= 0 <- hit

If you accept to go into the negative territory,
you'll find that any integer hits zero after a more
or less long "flight". But what about 23?
400 million subtractions are not enough !

(English/French text but English links to the OEIS)

I'm trying that problem now.

How much subtractions did you get for 40 or 41 ?

Thanks.
